Why is my washer squealing loudly on spin cycle?

I have a 10 yr old Kenmore stackable model #417.9087291. It only runs once or twice a week. All of a sudden just before it goes into spin cycle, there is loud squeal noisewhich continues thru spin cycle until the wash cycle is complete. It is not load being out of balance as I tried it with nothing in tub.
