Will a celeron CPU work in an iMac?

hi

i want to upgrade my cpu so in my imac g5 2005/6 too 64bit.

i have a old dell inspiron 1545 with a intel R celeron r cpu 64bit. would with work or does it have to be a core 2 duo cpu?

both cpus look the same from googling.
