With no sound, here's a good troubleshooting system:
- check the iPod with another pair of headphones or speakers, just to make sure that your first ones aren't the problem.
- replace the headphone jack assembly (there are different assembly for the 80/120/thin 160 GB and the thick 160 GB, which is why it's good to know more information about your iPod).
- If replacing the headphone jack doesn't solve the problem, all signs point to the logic board.

This can be the evidence of a few things, is your iPod working fine aside from the audio? It syncs, charges, and you can interact with it?
