Hey I accidentally dropped my 3ds while playing a different game and now it wont turn on I press the power button and then the light turns on for a couple seconds then it turns off can somebody please tell what happened to it and how do I fix it please

Have you tried opening it up? It's pretty likely that a part inside has been disconnected or broken. Check out iFixit's teardown for a good idea of what the inside should look like.
If everything else looks good, another possibility is that the battery has been screwed up and needs replaced.

I had a simar problem except I didn't drop mine. My new 3ds will not turn on at all, just play button sounds and system audio for a short time. Good luck man, new 3ds is extremely flawed, it's only a matter of time before everyone finds out.

@sqwerky, can you elaborate on your answer? You say "the" rather than "a" ribbon cable got disconnected, implying you have a specific one in mind. Which one are you thinking it is? There are, after all, several ribbon cables inside.
