2 Hard Drives 2TB in dual kit

Dan, I have same setup as yours, been using it for less than 6 months, recently I checked SMART data from my HDDs, and found Load Cycle Count to be very high, over 270000 and it is only in 1600 hours of power up. This number is almost half of life span of hdds. I googled for this issue and solution, tried some utilities, contacted Seagate support, but until now I found no solution that is working.

And for those who think to use M9T in their setup I would recommend to hold on. There are issues to be solved.

Your energy settings and how you use your system effects how the OS uses the drives. The Load Cycle Count only reflects the number of times the drive is put into park. You could alter the drives BIOS settings so the drive is not put into park but there is a give and a take here. When the heads are active across the disks the disks heat up and if the drive is bumped it could crash the disk. 2.5" drives do this more than 3.5" as the drives usage is different between the sizes (Laptop Vs Desktop use).
