Charging is not possible by connecting to laptop

My Kindle 4 has screen with battery logo to charge... when I connect cable to laptop and kindle nothing is happening. I have tried to push button as advised to bring it to life. The orange light will come for a few second and stop with no more activity... What to do? Does anyone can help me? Thank you.
