My Cracked iPod has White Screen

I dropped my iPod Touch 4th Generation about a year back and cracked it. It has a crack on the upper half of the screen and one on the bottom left below the home button. I plugged it in today and did the power and home screen method to turn it on but all I got was the charging beep and a white screen.
