I see this topic come up at least once a week and every single time someone is telling the person the USB dongle is unique to each unit and can't be replaced. This is completely incorrect. I know all these people are just repeating what they have been told/read, but it's wrong.
Once you find a replacement USB dongle, do the following to pair it with your set.
1 Connect the wireless adaptor to a PlayStation system or other powered USB port.
2 Insert a small pin or similar object into the hole surrounding the reset button in the wireless adaptor, and push in for at least one second.
3 On the headset, hold down the MUTE button and the VSS button.
4 While still holding down the MUTE button and the VSS button, slide the power switch to position 1 or 2.

Suren's instructions are for the newer wireless gold headset, not the CHECHYA-0800 model that this section covers.
just did it on my headset thats the oldest version and it works fine
Was that the 0080 version you treid if so what dongle did you use

Will this work on the playstation platinum headset if I get a new dongle I also have 2-3 dongles from all the gold headsets I had can I pair the platinum with a gold dongle or a new platinum dongle?

You get another dongle that's the same model look around it for a tiny pin hole put a piece of led (this can break inside and ruin the receiver) or something else small enough have the headset off while you put this it the hole when you did that hold the button on the headset until you are paired!
Update (06/23/2018)
Buy a new receiver of the same model number (cechya-0080 headset and receiver). Find the tiny pinhole on the receiver. Get a pin or (not recommended) piece of led, etc.
Have the headset off.
Stick the object your using in this hole then hold the headset on button until you see the paired message on ps3/ps4. Congratulations you have your headset connected.

This help me and I have my favorite headset in of all times working again after 6-7 years. I did all on my PS4, an update for headset 3.0.0 was required but everything worked. thank you
i have a PS3 Pulse Wireless Stereo Headset but i cant seem to find a 0086 dongle for it what can i use for replacement?? luis reyes

yes but the model # must be CECHYA-OO81 ON THE dongle reciever

Would it work??

You Can Absolutely buy a new one where that is going to be your effort, you can try CraigsList, LetGo, Amazon, Ebay or games stores like eb games ect.. when you get your new dongle reciever for your playstation headphones there is a little hole with a button inside on the dongle try using a sim card tray key works the best and there will also be another hole on the headset right where it says volume on the headset just after the letter E there will be another identical hole there too push that too then it will search for new reciever

i'm pretty sure thats a no, only company i know that remotely does that is logitech with there unifying software that can connect up too 8 devices but that was a little off topic to your question.
