Power Point keeps trying to repair file

I have a user running Office 2010 that every time they open a given Power Point file it prompts them to repair the file:

'PowerPoint found unreadable content in Presentation.pptx. PowerPoint can attempt to repair the presentation.

If you trust the source of this presentation, click Repair."

If you click repair, it does not appear to make any changes to the file and it opens but it says:

"PowerPoint removed unreadable content in Presentation [Repaired]. You should review this presentation to determine whether any content was unexpectedly changed or removed."

If you choose 'cancel' as opposed to 'repair' it simply does not open the file.

I can't open this same file on other machines running Powerpoint 2010. I have tried running a repair of Office as well as all available office updates to resolve. Any help I can get on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I'd probably let it run the repair then do a Save As and resave the file. Hopefully that will resolve it.

Or try resolve this by opening the Presentation file in google documents and then resaving it. Or try repair file via PowerPoint Repair Kit. I think something should help. http://www.oemailrecovery.com/powerpoint...

Your best bet is to heed the advice PowerPoint gives you:

"PowerPoint removed unreadable content in Presentation [Repaired]. You should review this presentation to determine whether any content was unexpectedly changed or removed."

A possible cause is the following:

PowerPoint can insert content (such as pictures) into a presentation in two ways: either it embeds the content in the PP file itself, or it links to content external to the PP file. In the latter case, if the original content is deleted or its file path is changed, PP can no longer find it and might throw an error.

In order to fix this, open the PP file in Edit mode, and review for any missing content.

If anyone still looking for a PowerPoint presentation file recovery solution, then they can try Kernel for PowerPoint software. It is an excellent third party solution, designed to deal with all minor or major corruption issues. Apart from that, the software also supports all versions of PowerPoint.
