Why is the charging light turning from red to green?

My Nabi 2 is plugged in but the charging light keeps switching from red to green. I am not sure if it is charging or not. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi Michelle,

Edit: Before you do any of this, it would be a good idea to make sure your device's software is up to date.

A good first step would be to remove the charging cable from the device, and then plug it back in. It is possible that your cable is simply not properly seated within the charging port, and disconnecting and reconnecting it should solve this problem. If this doesn't work, you'll want to plug the wall end of the charger into a different outlet in order to rule out the possibility of a dead outlet. If this also does not work, it is possible that the charging block is faulty. Try plugging the cable only (without the charging block) into a computer's USB port, and see if your device charges this way. Ensure the computer is turned on when you do this. If this successfully fixes your problem, then your charging block is defective and will need to be replaced. If not, the issue may lie with your charging cable, in which case it would need to be replaced.

If none of this solves your problem, there may be an issue with your charging port. Visually inspect the port for any blockages or dust buildup, as these could cause an unreliable connection. If none are found, the issue is likely internal, in which case you would need to open up your device and inspect the port. Check to see if the port's connection to the device's motherboard seems loose or broken. If this is the case, the port would need to be re-soldered to the motherboard. If the integrity of the connection does not appear to be compromised, then the port may need to be replaced entirely.
