Adapting Core Duo WiFi card to a Core 2 Duo logic board

MacBook Core Duo A1181 (2.0 GHz)

Hi,

I'd like to replace the mother board of my A1181 Core Duo MacBook, however I didn't find any on the market.

I've seen some full logic board+chassis of Core 2 Duo Macs for sale, which I thought I could use to build a new Mac recovering the screen assembly of my old Mac. However it seems that the WiFi antenna from the Core Duo screen assembly only has 2 wires, while the Core 2 Duo Airport card has connectors for 3 wires.

Could I use the airport card from my Core Duo Mac and put it on the Core 2 Duo logic board? Will it work properly?

Thanks

Aurelien

Update (04/06/2016)

Hi, I have no expectation in particular, I just want to replace my faulty core duo board. The thing is I can only find core 2 duo boards for sale.

What is your expectation here? The Core 2 Duo logic board is still limited to OS-X Lion (10.7.5)

The only difference here is the newer Airport card offers Bluetooth services (combo). Your older MacBook has a second board with Bluetooth. So you'll loose Bluetooth services with the newer board as you won't have the needed connections on the new board.

I'm not sure if the logic boards anchor points and other connections will match up. Let us know how it goes. Good Luck
