Minimal requirement to power up after coffee spill

After a coffee spill on the keyboard, can the keyboard/touchpad cable be unplugged and then have the MBA power up? Can the SSD be removed also? With no SSD and no keyboard/trackpad should the MBA power up? Should the magsafe have any lights? Should the batter also be disconnected for testing the minimum basic parts?
