How will removing the back glass effect the waterproofing?

I am worried that I need to replace the back screen of my Samsung Note7 after cracking the back glass. The removal itself is easy, apply heat and pry away, but how will this effect my phone's ability to resist water. The adhesive that keeps the back on is strong and sealed quite well, is there any tips, tricks, or things to know before I go ahead and remove the panel?
