Why is my brother and my ihomes play music statically?

My brother and I have two different ihomes and for a while they don't play music without static sounds covering most of the song. I need music to help me sleep and with all the static sounds I can't sheep well. Our parents aren't really any help with technology, my brother is the best with technology in our family, but he doesn't know what to do. I really would like to have a good night sleep without static sounds waking me up now that I have started college. Please what do we do to get our music without the static noise.
