Anyone know a solution to this? I try to click with the left button and it ends up double clicking. It also has trouble when click + hold is performed.

I was very sceptical but unbelievably this worked for me too! A million times quicker and easier than getting the soldering iron out!
For the dutch people: De eerste keer lukte het mij niet. Toen wat rustiger het gedeelte van de 5x op de linker knop gedrukt, en, HET WERKT ECHT!!
What kind of sorcery is this thing. It worked on mine too.
How did you learn this sequence?? Is this published in some sort of Logitech hardware manual?

I have also had this problem with several Logitech mice, including the performance MX
I fixed mine by desoldering and replacing the left microswitch with another (stolen from another, broken mouse). This is reasonably straightforward if you're comfortable with soldering, it just requires quite a lot of disassembly to get to the underneath of the logic board.
Alternatively, and much more simply, you can try opening up the microswitch and bending the internal spring back into shape. This is described in detail here (not my video).

Much easier solution is to take the microswitch apart and replace the spring from a working microswitch!
I ultimately discovered this is the correct way too! I have a replacement mouse coming my way that was a backup in case I messed up the soldering, but since I was successful, I will give the now perfectly working MX to my kiddo, and I will get used to a MX 3S!

Just open the microswitch. Remove the faulty spring. Replace spring from a working microswitch. This is much less hassle than desoldering the microswitch!

Even easier: I've found that you can actually bend the spring and it will work just as good as new. I performed this repair and the mouse is still working well years later.

Thatβs because the button is used down and the only real solution is to get it replaced by another oneβ¦ there is a software solution but not really reliableβ¦

I know this thread is dead, but your mouse likely just has a a dirty/damaged microswitch on that button. Just clean it or replace it.

had the same issue for almost a year now, it's barely usable but my other mouse is a g900 which is a gaming mouse so I have no other option to use during the night time until I get a silent replacement
