I have a G3 14" 800 with a logic board that got fried around the power supply area. I also have a G3 12" 800 with a good logic board. Can I use the 12" board in the 14" case, or is there a problem with the battery connectors?
Also will it drive a 14" screen, or will it only use 12 size area?

You can! It's got the exact same form factor (the 14" uses a battery cable extension to get around the case size), and it will drive a 14" screen just fine (same resolution, bigger screen).

As far as I am aware, other than the difficulty of lining up the ports and battery connector, it's possible.

Someone who knows how to handle a solder iron could take off the battery connector from the 12" board and fix it to the 14" logic board.

Thanks guys for your answers. Looks a rather complicated job (with 2 iBooks to take apart!) but the step by step instructions on ifixit are great. I'll do it over the next few days as the Christmas food wears off! Merry Christmas to all.
