Gaming laptop released in 2014 with an Nvidia 860M graphics card and a 15.6" display. Updated in 2015 with 960M graphics.

Only Fan turns on when holding power button

Hi!

So my problem is, that my Lenovo Y50-70 wont turn on at all. Only the fan starts when holding the power or recovery button. (Fan only works for 10 secs. then the whole laptop is quiet, USB 3.0 Ports has Voltage the 10 secs. fan is running)

would be nice if i get an answear here.

Maybe the Problem is electrostatic charge. but since i cant remove the battery i ve no idea how to make a discharge.

One method of doing a hard reset is to remove the power cord and press the power button for 20 seconds.

Another method is, with a low battery and while charging, press and hold power button until the battery LED is off, then immediately pull the cable, release the power button, and try to power it on again.

UPDATE: Ok, I know this is an old thread but since that didn't work - have you checked the RAM?

The only problem is, that the battery is not removable.

But thanks anyways for your fast answer. :)

No problem. Give it a try though, this advice is specific to your model, so it might fix the problem.

tried both of them. Sadly nothing worked. Is there any other method?
