Can I create a NVMe raid0 with 2 different SSDs?

my laptop is GE62 VR 6RF 078CN

I wanna build a raid0 volume with 2 different brand NVMe SSD (both 128GB)

is that possible?

You should use the exact same SSD as the one already in it. This will optimise the performance. If the Toshiba is a faster drive, it will be slowed by the Kingston, and vise versa. It's not that you can't use two different drives, it's just not optimal nor is it reliable.

If your M.2 slot is PCIe, a single Samsung 960 is way faster than the others, plus it has the "single drive" reliability.

While it might work, I don't recommend it.

You see the whole idea of RAID is using matched drives and I/O channels. When you start using other drives the speed difference between them can bite you.

Without doing the review of the units spec sheets as well as detailed testing I don't think anyone will tell you it will or will not work.
