comes on even when the door is open?
just opening the microwave turns it on.

@triveni, triveni, Sound like possibly failed switches. This is a unsafe condition and you really should consider unplugging/not using and have a qualified appliance tech. having a look and estimate repair. Microwaves can be very dangerous to work on.
