What can I do with these?

I have these old Altec Lansing computer speakers. I would like to use them but the connects do not match anything on my computers. Any ideas on how I can rewire these (new connectors?) so that they can be plugged into my computer? The only two connectors/wires coming from the speakers are the ones shown.

Here are more images as requested by Oldturkey. Thank you Oldturkey for your time and help. You are correct, it is the VS4221. Still not sure if this is going to work but hoping to avoid throwing these speakers away. Also, do not want to spend much money to make these work - I know this is a tricky balance. I have not used a multimeter yet but I wanted to share these images in case this helps. I am a high school teacher so my time to get projects like this done is very limited, but I will try to work on it a little at a time.

@teamstarr the yellow connector should be plugged into your subwoofer.

Thanks for the response oldturkey03. I don't have a subwoofer. I was hoping to use these as regular computer speakers. Maybe that won't work but I was wondering if there is a way.

I was thinking that maybe one cord could be rewired to be a plug (for a wall outlet) and the other wire could be rewired to be the audiojack like headphones.

I imagine I am simplifying this way too much but I thought I could learn a little something about how these work if I ask on this site.

What type of connectors are these? I don't think they are RCA. I am trying to find a way to convert one wire to be the plug (wall plug 120V input) power source and one wire to convert to a 3.5mm headphone jack that can be connected to a smartphone.

It would be even cooler if I could make these bluetooth wireless. Any ideas?

"convert one wire to be the plug (wall plug 120V input)" not a good idea. I am convinced that your speakers are not meant for120V The subwoofer most likely transforms the voltage to the speakers.

Let me see if I can find anything on this connector. do you have tag on the back of those speakers to give any model number? Looking at your scant picture of the speakers it looks like it might be a Altec Lansing VS4221

@teamstarr these are most likely speakers that require a power source but definitely not 110V. You would have 2 wires for each speaker (in the 3.5mm plug) as well as possibly power lines. I suggest you try to open those speakers (not the DIN connector) and check how the wires are connected. Then use a meter and measure from the wire to the connector and identify the contacts by testing for continuity. Again once we know what exact model these speakers come from we may find more information. Let us know what you find and you can always post some images of what those connections look like.

To use these speakers you will need some sort of amplifier to power them. I am certain there is some sort of Bluetooth module you can get to convert those speakers but that might be a bit of work and may cost a bit of money. Great DIY project....

Hi Oldturkey03. Thank you for your response. I added some pictures above to the original post. If these photos help give some ideas on what can be done with these speakers I would still appreciate your ideas.

@teamstarr looks like a 5V system. Can you unplug "Con1" since I bet there are descriptors on that. Purple and Green wires look like they are going to the other speaker as power supply.

You are right again. Looks like it is 5V. I cleaned the Con1 (see pic). The purple and green wires do not go to the second speaker. Those wires go up into the top part of the speaker "tower" portion; in other words the purple and green wires do not leave the stand alone speaker.

Now trace some wires. Use a multimeter in ohm mode and trace from CON1 to the plug. Looks like white is ground and black is 5V+
