How to install new fan grille assembly on Kenmore Elite 7957

We were getting error message ER 1F on our Kenmore Elite 7957. After some investigation, it seems the fan grille assembly went bad. The problem is, the new part does not fit like the old one. It seems to have an extra cable. We can find no information at all on how to install this and Sears wants $400 just to answer the question. The new part # is AEB73785616. Does anyone know how it installs into the old slot?
