Sensors and iris scanner stopped working

It stopped working at the same time so i figured it might not be hsrdware related since they are separate hardware (iris is with front cam and sensors have their own sensory array). Everything under sensors dont give value (when using *#0*#) and iris just gave an error message (also in *#0*#). Ive done factory reset with no luck. Im out of warranty by the way since im not on the country of purchase. What would likely be the problem? Should I buy parts and replace them myself? Thanks

First of all, we need to establish the exact issue. What happens when you try and use the Iris scanner? Does it fail instantly? Describe it in detail. If you dropped your phone it could cause the connection to become loose on the Iris scanner. Lastly, when trying to take a front facing picture does the camera work then?

из

Yes iris scanner fails instantly when im trying to use. Haven't drop it even a feet. Front facing cam is working, just the iris scanner won't. Ive done hard reset, running on safe mode, cleaning up cache on recovery mode and even reset to factory settings.

Try the lR light. Take another smartphone and point it at the module while trying to scan. The phone should be able to detect the light coming from the S8.

I use this trick all the time for TV remotes.

Not only my iris sensor is not responding, but also my auto brightness and S health sensor. Im trying to reset, clear catches data and still they are not working.

Have you find how to solve this problem. If yes can you tell me how to fix this problem please? My phone just got the same problem here.

Samsung is TRASH. This is the third Samsung phone I have had that has broken for absolutely no reason. They released a bunch of new JUNK before they had enough time to correct the bugs. They either need to fix the problem via software, do a major recall, or get sued for billions in a class-action lawsuit. I am fed up with this company. They have a lot of nerve charging the prices they do for a phone that is complete and utter TRASH.

Try giving your phone an update, If that doesn't work you may have to get them replaced but may cost a small fortune. Take it into a shop and see if they can figure the problem out if this doesn't help.

Good luck :)

Im on latest update already, im pretty confident i can replace parts on my own but the problem is, they aren't selling sensory array part, its not out of stock, its just not there. Do you have other trusted seller for replacements? Thanks

из

@pccheese you know a solution to this, I can only think of missing drivers, but that should've fixed with a Hard reset, unless it's not detecting the sensors due to them being faulty. @fipssmaldone

@darkethereal On questions like this, diagnose the problem first. When we know what it is we can fix it, but until then find out what it is. Unless you know that replacing the modules will fix it, it is in general a last resort.

из

The problem is that sensor array and iris scanner is not working, like even in module test it fails (using *#0*# on dial pad). What more detail I could give?

Is your phone repaired? If you got the glass changed or cracked the screen , it can get damaged from moisture and stop working . IC isnt usually the issue as samsung builds these phones to be water proof the internal are pretty well insulated

I have the same problem but with my iris scanner when I press start for it to scan my front camera doesnt show up at all, the 2 circles for my eyes stays blank and the scanner stays at 0% but my front camera works on my normal camera so I have no idea why I can't scan my irises. I did the full software update and everything, does anybody know why my camera isnt showing up to scan my eyes?

Your iris scanner is dead , it has nothing to do with the front camera , iris scanner is a seperate IR sensor.

If you happen to have dropper your phone or got the front glass replaced it can get damaged
