Why is the phone overheating while on the charger?

This has been happening for a while. I would plug it into the wall or my computer and the top of my phone and gradually flows throughout the phone. It does hold a charge a bit but the battery does die fast. I am thinking of buying a new battery but I'm trying to take the cheaper way out.

Hi!

You have essentially "overcharged" the battery, this leads to less life in it and overheating. I would recommend to turn phone off and charge it so it doesn't use the battery but can get recharged. Playing on it too much will make it overheat and at risk of losing battery.

Overcharging?!? Bruh....like....bruh.... No. Just no. You need to delete that. Its THAT wrong.

OP, IMHO, the reason is the phone is crap. Its the absolute worst device I have ever had the displeasure of having to touch, and have memory of. Its that bad. Knowing it exists is detrimental to my health.

What the other poster was touching on was the possibility that your device is pulling as much energy as your charging circuit can supply so your battery is effectively floating (which lithiums dont really like very much, especially if low or high on charge. "Why" has to do with battery chemistry and not really important). But I dont buy into that. Because my ls676 does exactly the same thing no matter what. Its just an absolute poo on your shoe kind of device that never should have been built. I put a brand new LG branded battery in and its already puffing......I guarantee the problem is either in the charging circuits, or they screwed the pooch and pushed a faulty background update...
