Phil Hopkins the OBD2 socket is located under the steering wheel on the right hand side.

My 11/99 Mazda 626 GF/GW does not have an OBD plug located in the car it is under the bonnet/hood and is a square plug associated with a rectangular plug.
I believe this is a specific Mazda thing!!!
