You need to get your car towed to a mechanic to get it repaired before driving it again. The gas leak is a serious safety hazard.

Could be a leaking fuel fill tube, but a common problems I’ve seen are: a rusted thru fuel filter, abrasion rubbed a hole in the fuel line, leaking o ring at fuel filter connection.
Also possible he hit something and put a hole in the tank.
Agree with first post: tow to trusted mechanic as fuel leak Is dangerous.
