System information in BIOS is incorrect?

I replaced the system board in my laptop HP Envy 17 3D Product # A6U50AV. Everthing works fine but the Model Name in the BIOS shows as HP Pavillion DM3. This is incorrect as my model is HP Envy 17 3D. How do I change this information?

Remove & insert again the CMOS battery, this will erase firmware memory. If nothing will change, flash a new Envy firmware. There is almost zero probability, that incorrect program is sitting there right now if the computer is working. But indeed, this is a weird situation.

I removed and inserted the CMOS nothing changed. I also updated the BIOS to the latest one I found on HP site for my model. Again nothing changed. Still the System Model Name shows as ‘HP Pavillion dm3’.

Clearing memory was useless tip, but harmless - the system name is not a configurable variable.

But if you see still a wrong system id after a flash, then the only explanation I can think of is that bios for your mobo is modified version of Pavillion DM3 program. They forgot to change the name. This is normal situation that vendors reuse software.
