I’ve accidentally ordered a Pixel Battery but have a Pixel 2. Would this battery work if I install it or do I have to re-order a Pixel 2 battery? Perhaps a silly question but if it will work it would save the trouble obviously.

You’re going to need to return your Pixel battery and get a Pixel 2 battery. The connectors are different therefore making them not interchangeable.
