No AirPort card installed

Thanks. I still use this mid 2009 model with 10.6.8 which is no excuse. Suddenly I could not see WiFi icon.

In network prefs it was off, so I turned it on and got the ‘No wifi card installed’ error. Restarting didn’t work. Also in prefs it doesnt turn on.

Travelling without installer disc. Going to upgrade os anyway.
