battery cannot be removed
after opening the compartment and releasing the lever inside the battery does not pop out as it used to and it can not be removed. how can it be removed?

@sbba1618 make sure that the locking mechanism is fully engaged. Sometimes it helps to push down a bit on the battery and see if that releases it. If that does not work, use a pair of hemostats or tweezers and try to pull it out with the release lever engaged.

thanks. i can not get something around the battery to grasp it as it does not move after release of the locking gear
@sbba1618 you may have to try to split the case and see if that releases the battery. It is possible that the safety latch has failed and stays engaged. This would of course involve a complete disassembly. Start with the posted guides

If your battery is older it may have swollen slightly, generally that's because you need to stop using that battery it's time to get another, AND the tweezers can work better if you warm the camera up, like put it near your body if your out so that there is less tug hassle. The swollenness of the batteries demonstrate that they are aged and need replacing.

Adhesive tape may work to grab and pull (depending on the issue). It worked for me on a similar camera.
