power plug bad connection

Can you tell me if it is possible to open the plug for power into the laptop for re-soldering? (Without destroying it.)

There is a loose connection and I have a problem because I am travelling and will not be able to buy a new unit for about 5 weeks.

regards Barry

Please gives us the last three figures of your serial number so we know which Book you have. We also need a much more descriptive question as to what your problem is. I can't even tell if you're talking about the Book or the AC adapter.

Serial: RG3

I am talking about the plug that carries the power into the computer (the one with the green/amber led.) which is damaged. I don't know how else to describe it -- it's like a jack plug with a shield around it.

It seems like the wires need resoldering inside the plug. This is just until I get back home and can purchase a new, complete power adapter.

It's called an A/C adapter. These things are hard to repair. Consider having one shipped to your next destination or going by a Radio Shack. Here's a generic: [связанный продукт отсутствует или отключен: IF113-039]

Thank you for all the info.

Unfortunately none of them say how to open the small jack plug connector.

It seems like I will either attempt to open it or just use the dreaded XP pc for the next 5 weeks.

Thanks anyway,

regards Barry
