Hey Martin,
Unfortunately I cannot seem to find any replacement parts, on iFixit or elsewhere. I might suggest either wrapping the joint tightly with electrical tape and some masking tape or, for a cleaner fix, you might be able to get some heat shrink tape/tubing and tighten it up by applying heat from a hairdryer.
Otherwise, take my advice with headphones:
Whenever you buy any electronic, like headphones, buy them from Amazon and purchase the 3-year warranty (about $20). In the event they break, which headphones usually do, you can just send them to the warranty company and they will either send you a brand new pair or (in most cases) they will give you an amazon gift card with the value of the headphones when you purchased them.
Example: I bought Beats Solo HDs for about $200 when they were new. They stopped playing out of the left ear. I sent them back and got a $200 gift card. I then applied that to a purchase of the Beats Solo 2s.
The Solo 2s ALSO stopped playing out of the left ear, but I love the beats, so they gave me another gift card, which I used to buy a pair of the wireless Solo 3s. Each time I bought my new pair, I just got a new warranty plan to go with them.
Although my friends hate on me for “scamming” the warranty companies, I’m not going to pay $200 for headphones that will break after a year. I’d rather pay $20 extra for a protection plan which will allow me to upgrade to the newest product.
Let me know if this helps!
- Alex
