Pitch of sound of the machine changed overnight

Dear Readers,

I have had my Kenwood chef major (the large one) for about 3 years. I would like to know if I should worry about the machines change in the way it sounds.

Last week my machine started a making a different type sound than it used to. The pitch (tone) in the sound got much lower and deeper.

I have a suspicion it has to do with lubrication in the machine. I just would like to know if someone else can confirm that based on this description and if anyone maybe has some pointers on where to start if it is.

Kind regards,

@levi1 absolutely possible that this is an issue with your gears/lubrication. Usually a lack of it will make the pitch higher. Since we do not know your exact model, see if these guides Kenwood Chef will help you to check the gears and grease out.

I appreciate your response a lot.

The pitch however is much lower, so is it possible that might indicate another type of problem?

Possibly an issue with the gears but you will have to take a look at it. For now, since it is only the sound that has changed, consider using it but monitor its performance.
