Computer is not booting, no chime or fan

This mac book air is completely unresponsive to the power button.

There is no chime, no fan spin and no monitor (stays black, no flicker or anything)

The battery is charging, it went from amber to green after 3+ hours

I have tried powering up with battery connected and disconnected. I have tried resetting SMC with battery connected and disconnected.

The laptop currently doesn’t have a hard drive installed

I am able to reset the SMC, because the amber light would turn green briefly before returning to amber

Because i was able to reset the SMC this should prove that the power button is working.

There is no water damage.

I’m hoping someone has experienced these symptoms, I couldn’t find an existing question with matching symptoms.

Thank you

You couldn’t find any suitable answer as the charging circuit is just the first stage of a Mac power system. After that, there are zillion things that may be faulty, one would need to be a wizard to give you any reasonable answer with just these symptoms. Unless one has the good will and/or knowledge to probe the board and shrink much further the faulty area, don’t expect any out of the box solution, as it just isn’t possible to supply one.
