So I having the same issue, I bought a 2019 MacBook Pro 13 Inch model, which arrived yesterday morning. It was working normally but at about 56% battery it just shut itself off and it keeps doing that no matter how often I perform said SMC reset. Gonna call Apple tomorrow they better replace me my *!&*^#% machine … haven’t even had it for 24h and its basically junk.

Im glad that they will replace my machine though ... called up apple sales support and they were very apologetic on the line and instantly offered to replace my macbook. Do you perhaps know how I can backup all my installed programs to iCloud ?
Best to just create a local backup on an external drive using TimeMachine.
You really only need to worry about non-Apple App Store apps. The App Store apps are linked to your Apple ID and can be downloaded at anytime again.

How about first making sure you've got the latest macOS on it and let it charge for a good 8 hours.
