On start up of my macbook pro, i get a flashing ? mark...!
I have tried holding down the c key with my install disk in and after about 30sec the flashing question mark is back... it will not boot to the hard drive or disk.... The hard drive was erased but should restart from the install disk but is not any help would be a blessing, thank you :-)

After you start from your restore cd you should run the disk utilities first and inspect the drive if it checks out it could be something more than your HD. Try that first before you go doing a archive and restore. Also you want to try to to select the start up disc as mac os x I had a ibook that would occasionally do a folder and then load the os until I selected the hard drive to startup it eventually went away.

Computer cannot find hard drive- insert start up cd turn off and start up with the c key pressed and either erase and reload program or archive and restore. Look at Disk utilities.
