How do I reconnect this part back onto the logic board?

Hi,

When taking apart a Macbook Air to replace the keyboard backlight, I stupidly ripped this part from the board thinking that was the way it came off. But in fact the connector that has 9LB written on it is a female connector and there is a male connector inside it which is for the power board. If I push down hard on the connector, the MacBook is able to turn on.

Does anyone know of the best way to get this connected again? Would conductive glue work maybe? Or could it be soldered?

Thank you!

Sadly, you snapped off the pins, you’ll need to de-solder the broken pieces on the solder pads and get a replacement connector.

As this is a power connector you can’t use conductive glue as the current is to great.

Best to find a independant computer repair shop that has a junker to swap out the part. I had managed to get a few a few years ago, since then I haven’t found a source. Apple uses an odd connector!
