My new Hard Drive is not recognizable anymore. But my old one works.

I installed a new 500 GB hard drive and it was working great. Then one day the ? popped up and I trouble shooted as much as I could and nothing was working. I decided to try and pop my old one back in and the computer works great. I literally bought this 500GB last year and now it doesn’t work. Help please. Can I get it working again?

Please tell us more about the newer drive you installed.

First, I’m assuming you mean the Apple SSD

It sounds like the newer drive has failed or somehow broke. The older drive works perfectly, so we know its not the Macbook, so we can rule that out. Its most likely a bad drive.

Hope this helps!
