Compaq mini not typing with external key board

More info on your troubleshooting so far may be helpful. Is it wireless or wired? If its wired do the USB ports work with other devices? Does it recognize it but not type? Did you try multiple ports? Do you have any other external keyboards you can try? Try updates/driver updates?
