Why is the 3rd diagnostic led on with external monitor?

I have changed the logic board as the lcd connector was damaged. I have put all the parts back and only two led lights are on and the screen is black. When I connect the external monitor third diagnostic led goes on but there is no image on the external monitor. I. cannot figure out what is wrong. Anybody had similar issues?

Thanks a mil for help

The onboard diagnostic LED's only really relate to the internal display. You'll need to connect the internal display directly.

with the internal display connected I only get two led lights on and strangely so, if I connect the external at the same time it lights up the 3rd light.

Time to inspect the LVDS and power cables from the logic board to the display assembly. Make sure they are not bent or damaged in any way.

With the internal display connected and powered take a bright flashlight held against the screen at a sharp angle are you able to see the faint image of your desktop and it’s icons? Make sure you don’t mar the screen!

If not then you likely have either a bad connection or a bad GPU board.
