It would occasionally randomly turn off but would function again after some amount of time - usually upon restart.
HDMI still works fine. But I’d really like to continue using the display port.
I’m not sure how exactly to diagnose the problem and if it’s a hardware issue, is it repairable?

Your logic board clearly has a problem. It will need someone with deeper skills to fix your logic board.

I see. Is this logic board fix a “might as well just get a replacement mini” fix or can it be repaired with reasonable cost and effort?
@brokenmacmini - I can't tell you what you want to know, without knowing the exact issue within the logic board.
All I can do is maybe aim you to someone who has the skills locally to you. I would need to know where you live country and nearest city.
