Why my laptop doesn't detect my Graphics adapter?

After I’ve cleaned the fans and replaced the paste, after one month I’ve noticed that my graphic adapter is not being read. I’ve installed my Windows when I’ve done the cleaning and also all my drivers, including the graphic one and everything went smooth, but now it says that I don’t have a GPU. What should I do?

I remember I was very gentle with every part of my laptop, when I’ve clean it, just to avoid this kind of problems.

What is the status of the Nvidia GPU as shown in Device Manager > Display Adapters > right click on the Nvidia entry (if it is there) > Properties > General Tab > Device status?

There's no Nvidia at the Display Adapters :(

Hi @maricruze

Check in BIOS > Advanced > Graphics Configuration and see if it is shown there.

Unfortunately the user manual (see p.72) doesn't show what the settings are.

At 9:20 minutes into a teardown video of the laptop it shows the CPU and the GPU and both are hard mounted on the motherboard so it is not a case of a loose connection

Please "Unaccept" my Answer as it didn't solve the problem.

Also please verify the model number of the laptop?

If it doesn't have any appearnaces in BIOS or Device manager the GPU has failed but this is very strange given that you only cleaned it.

Did you apply fresh thermal paste to the GPU chip as well as the CPU chip when you applied the paste when cleaning?

I did apply thermal paste to both of them, first I cleaned the old one.

My model number is: GL503VD.

So there is nothing at all listed in BIOS regarding the Nvidia GPU?

What does it show in Graphics Configuration?

You may have to search every menu item in BIOS just in case it is listed somewhere else. Otherwise it appears as though the GPU has failed which would be unusual as you only cleaned it along with everything else and it all works except for the GPU
