Maytag mdb7979shz filling but not washing

My dishwasher is less than 2 years old. It fills with water, heats up and drains but the spray arms are not working. We cleaned everything, no clogs. We checked the inlet valve, the sump, and circulation motor and all test good. We replaced the capacitor still having the same problem. It’s running through a full cycle but just not washing. Any ideas????

Took the door apart and determined that there was a loose terminal block/plug (plastic bit holding electrical wires).

1) Flip the breaker to kill all electricity to your dishwasher.

2) Disassemble door (torx 15 bit, 10 screws total). The door separates into an inner skin and an outer skin.

3) Locate brown plastic junction box(?) in upper right hand corner.

4) Pull/remove white plug, with ~6 small gauged white wires into it, from brown box.

5) Unhook brown box from inner door skin (it has snap retainers, gently pry).

6) Note group of thicker blue wires on bottom right of brown box. There are *TWO* gray plastic retaining pieces. In our case the blue and white “set” of wires in the leftmost plug of the two, had pulled out enough to create an open in the circuit. So we only needed to remove the small gray retaining clip on the brown box to access the two plugs of blue wires. The right plug has four blue wires in a single two-set plug, the left plug has one blue and one white wire. We pulled both plugs, reseated them tightly, and reattached the gray retaining clip. For added measure we also tightly wrapped electric tape around all six wires in order to keep the left plug from disengaging again in the future.

7) Reattach the brown box, plug the little white wire from the buttons back in, screw the door skins back together, and flip the breaker to on.

TL;DR: Inside the door is a circuit board encased in a brown plastic box that all the electrical control wires plug into. One of the plugs (there’s two) containing the thicker blue wires had managed to wiggled loose. Shove it back in and see if it fixes your problem like it did ours. :)

You just saved me. After spending several days troubleshooting and ordering $200 in parts...THIS was the issue and it was a 15 minute fix. THANK YOU for spending the time to post this :)
