I added some embellishments to the Elvis suit… I may have somehow “unhinged’ the legs as he no longer sways his hips or moves his legs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So since you added some embellishments to the suit, it is preventing his legs from swaying. I would suggest to remove the embellishments and hook them on only to the overlay fabric of the suit to see if that makes a difference. If it doesn’t then something is wrong with the bear internally. Then the legs have unhinged themselves from the main gear system track. I would recommend to try to move the legs back and forth to see if that could start up the toy, if not you might have to take it apart and repair the movement.

Yes, that’s the model … Thank you for your reply & suggestions. No the sequins etc are sewn ONLY to the outer clothing (difficult to do as the clothing is also part of the body! ) … I had to move him around a lot to achieve that …( and I think that’s what caused the dislocation of his hips) … I have unpicked where the pants join the body … looked under the dacron padding, and found all mechanics are enclosed in a plastic case … which does have some little screws each side. (New batteries BTW) … I found a teddy bear hospital in our capital City (Brisbane) … so have arranged to mail him there to have him diagnosed and assessed … hopefully they can operate and get Elvis “bopping” again. Not quite game enough to explore further myself … I think I’ve done enough damage, ( Soooo upset with myself) Thank you SO much for taking the time to reply and offer your suggestions. really appreciate it ;) THANK you & Happy New Year to you from “Down Under Australia”
