Scuf controller turns off

I have a Scuf controller that turns off mid way through playing a game. It is a strange one… just at that point in the game when a tense moment comes and you slightly grip the controller a bit tighter, the controller turns off. You only have to put a little extra pressure on the grips and it switches the controller off.

It isn’t a battery issue or not close enough to the console issue, it is as though something underneath is causing the controller to cut out from a little tighter grip on the device
