Model A1419 / EMC 2806 / Late 2014 or Mid 2015. 3.3 or 3.5 GHz Core i5 or 4.0 GHz Core i7 (ID iMac15,1); EMC 2834 late 2015 / 3.3 or 3.5 GHz Core i5 or 4.0 GHz Core i7 (iMac17,1) All with Retina 5K displays

iMac 2015 Hard drive not found. Computer not booting.

My imac crashed and trying to reboot I get the file icon with a question mark flashing.

Tried the disk repare application from the recovery mode (command R). But no success.

Imac can't find the startup disk.

Ho can I recuperate the data? Not much backing up done lately...

Drive is dead. If its an SSD, no chance. If its an HDD, maybe you can take the drive out and get something out of it...

You'll need to create a bootable external drive. Use the recovery services to format and install the OS onto an external drive (make sure you don't select the wrong drive here) once the external is setup use the startup command Option (⌥) to select the external drive.
