Why does my paper keep on going inside the printer?

When I insert paper onto the paper tray the paper gets pulled into the back of the printer and gets stuck. This all started when I accidentally pushed a bunch of paper in while printing (thinking that the paper should've gone more in) and now the printer shows "Error" and will not print as well. Does anyone know how to fix this?
