My LG refrigerator lower freezer ice maker is making a banging sound

Does the ice maker make the noise only when trying to dispense the ice and not at other times?

Have you checked that there is no obstruction in the ice tray that may be impeding the ice maker's auger from turning correctly to dispense the ice?
