Hi damon,

While there are a few possibilities of things that could be wrong with the drill itself, the most common problem with a drill that has a short runtime would be the battery. All batteries, whether Ni-Cd or Li-Ion, will eventually lose the ability to hold a charge. It's sometimes hard to tell if a battery is going bad or not; probably the easiest way is to compare it against a new or known good battery. My son has a 20-year old Craftsman drill and I just finished buying new batteries for his; when I went to use it one of the batteries lit up the battery fault lite on the charger immediately and wouldn't charge at all, and the other gave me a runtime of about 10 minutes after being fully charged. So even if you have two batteries, if they're the same age they could both be at the same stage of degradation.

Other than that, you'd have to take the drill apart and check the field windings on the armature and coils, along with checking the switch for excessive resistance. It's brushless, so worn out brushes aren't a factor here.

Let us know how old your battery/batteries are, what kind you have (Ni-Cd or Li-Ion), and in what condition they are in and we can figure out what to do next.
