Does anyone know how to replace a MSI Creator17m A10SE LCD screen?

I usually like to do my own repairs on my laptop or phone. So I got the LCD screen to replace my cracked screen. I thought it would come with instructions or a diagram don't want to damage the casing for the screen but I don't know how to go about taking it off without damaging it.

I spoke to MSI service their response was it was not on warranty. They just don't help at all. MSI's only service outlet is in California. I can't send it away since I use my laptop daily and I am not sure how to do this. The vertical lines from the crack started just in the corner and now it has taken up 1/4 of my screen.

So I would appreciate it if anyone can give me help on taking out the screen to replace it.

Thanks

Replacing a laptop LCD screen can be a bit tricky, but with the right tools and some patience, it can be done. Here are some general steps that may help you replace the LCD screen on your MSI Creator17m A10SE laptop:

  1. Power off the laptop and unplug it from the power source. Also, remove the battery if it is easily accessible.
  2. Remove the plastic bezel that surrounds the screen. There may be screws or tabs holding it in place, so check the bottom of the bezel for any screws, and gently pry it away from the screen using a plastic spudger tool or your fingernails.
  3. Once the bezel is removed, you should be able to see the LCD screen and the mounting brackets holding it in place.
  4. Look for any screws or adhesive strips that are holding the LCD screen in place, and remove them. Take note of which screws go where, as some may be longer or shorter than others.
  5. Once the screen is free, carefully disconnect the video cable and any other cables that are attached to the back of the screen. Be gentle and use a plastic spudger tool to pry them away if necessary.
  6. Take the new LCD screen and connect the cables to the back of it. Double-check to make sure everything is securely connected.
  7. Place the new screen in the mounting brackets and reattach any screws or adhesive strips that were holding the old screen in place.
  8. Finally, reattach the plastic bezel by snapping it back into place or reinserting any screws or tabs that were holding it in place.
  9. Power on the laptop and test the new screen to make sure it is working properly.

Keep in mind that these are general steps, and the specific process may vary depending on your laptop model. It's always a good idea to search for specific guides or videos online that show how to replace the LCD screen on your exact laptop model. Good luck with your repair!

Thanks for the information Jelly Bean Man. Tried looking for specific guides and videos but there are none. This laptop is unusual it doesn't have a plastic bezel it's in a case. I don't even see a screw. It's tightly sealed. Will keep looking and try again to reach out to MSI and also those that provide the screen. I need to get adhesive strips.

@techintern sometimes you have to take off the bottom of the laptop, and there will be screws under there.
