Yamaha R-N602 no sound no display

I have a  Yamaha  R-N602, plug in,  When I press front power button the standby indicator come ON,  pressed remote power button. Nothing happened. …no sound no display.

Normally at power-up I use to hear 2 relay activate when the receiver was working, but now nothing.

Look like the power supply deliver a nice 5.5 VDC but this is the far I could go for now.

Any idea are welcome.  Thanks

Replying to mattc: When I sent my unit in, both Yamaha's tech team, and the authorized dealer whose tech also checked it, agreed that my R-N602 was water-damaged, as they found corrosion in two spots on the circuit board. As this unit was nowhere near any water source -- no roof leaks, no nearby food or drink -- the only possible explanation is mice (I live in the the country) -- though this never happened to its Onkyo predecessor, which occupied the same spot for 15 years. Very expensive fix.

I think I found the problem. !!!

There is a small circuit bord attached on the output transistor heat sink .

On this small bord there is "integrated-circuit temperature sensor"

I made a quick Ohms test and it looks completely open.

Does somebody here know if I could bypass this sensor ?

LM19 2.4V, 10μA, TO-92 Temperature Sensor

Thanks

@Ticla, please expand on the fix you applied regarding your Yamaha R-N602 AVR.

Hi!

I have fixed two R-N602 with the same problem.

The main circuitboard was broken.

Look at the board that is just close to the heat sink if it is broken.

Hello,

On my RN-602 The Temperature Sensor (IC) was open.

Look for a small board touching the heat sink (LM19 2.4V, 10μA, TO-92)

I dint replace the transistor, I just bypass it by jumping  (+Vs 3.3vdc et V-out)

You also need to do a reset.

While pressing DIMMER and PRESET buttons, press the power button to activate the self drag mode.

Hope this helps you.
